Book Title: My Dark Ever After
By: Giana Darling
My trip to Italy shattered my dreams. I just wanted to connect with our family’s roots, but that meant defying my father’s wishes. I was looking for truth and goodness. All I found was darkness and deceit. And one man who embodies it the capo dei capi, Raffaele Romano.
There are books that end a story, and then there are books that complete it — My Dark Ever After is definitely the latter.
After the heartbreaking end of My Dark Fairytale, I went into this sequel expecting fire, chaos, and redemption — and Giana Darling did not disappoint. The story begins with a literal bang and unfolds into a whirlwind of danger, passion, and revelation.
Raffa is still the bleeding heart with a gun — terrifying and tender all at once. His love for Guinevere feels both dangerous and sacred. And Guinevere? She finally confronts her own darkness, the one she’s buried for too long. Their connection isn’t the kind that redeems — it consumes, reshapes, and rebuilds.
What I adored most was the meticulous storytelling. Every subplot, every character arc was tied up beautifully. Just when I thought a thread had been forgotten, Giana swooped in with an answer that made perfect sense. It’s the kind of writing that feels deliberate, generous, and deeply satisfying.
Beyond the mafia glamour — the cars, the danger, the secrets — this book is really about acceptance: loving someone completely, even when that love lives in the shadows.
When I closed the final page, I felt that bittersweet ache that only comes from a story you weren’t ready to let go of. I already miss Raffa and Guinevere, but what a farewell they got.
