A bride-to-be convinced she’s cursed in romance finds her luck changing—at exactly the wrong time.
I decided to listen to this book after listening to the audio preview.
The dedication pulled me in right away—it felt personal, and I knew I wanted to keep listening. I really enjoyed the story, especially how Maya navigates love and relationships while staying true to her identity as a Muslim woman.
She’s a bride-to-be who jokingly calls herself “cursed,” flying to Pakistan to join her family and fiancé. But when things don’t go as planned, she decides to roll with it—taking her therapist’s advice to embrace the chaos instead of fighting it.
That chaos ends up being exactly what she needed. It pushes her to learn more about herself, question what she’s been taught about love and duty, and slowly, with her family’s support, figure out what she actually wants. Despite cultural and family expectations, Maya finds a way to stay true to herself—and finds real love in the process.
It’s a funny, heartfelt, and refreshing story about choosing your own path, even when it’s scary—and learning that love can grow in the most unexpected ways.
